For those of you who lived on another planet these past months and haven't heard about it: IEPERFEST WAS SUPERGREAT!
Up to 6.500 Visitors and a great atmosphere. Big Thanx to all the volunteers for making this possible. Thanx to the visitors for drinking(~) and eating a lot, also for keeping the festival-site clean! Shame on those people who thrashed the camping-site though...

Hey hey. Check this out: together with some newcomers to Republyk Vort'n Vis we're organizing a whole bunch of FREE GIGS ON FRIDAYS. IEPERFEST WAS A BLAST !!! We had up to 5000 visitors during the 3 day festival. That means a quarter more people than 2k4. The Fest was a big succes, so was the atmosphere... 'cause everybody had a good time. Much thanks to the volunteers who were a big help for the organisation. We'll keep you guys informed about a special party just for you. IEPERFEST IS COMMING !!! 3 days left until this legendary fest kicks off. The Vort'n Vis and Genet Records are working at full speed. Thursday we've got the Pre-Fest at the Vort'n Vis venue. Bands playing that day : BREAK AND ENTER - LEGACY OF CAIN (Spain) - TRENCHFOOT(ex-Kingpin) - MORDA . Don't miss out on this gig. It will be possible to buy your weekend-ticket at the Pre-Fest. ~ News 05-07-05 ~

Last night we had a last minute show of MERAUDER at the Vort'n Vis. Their tourbus broke down so they weren't able to get to Germany where they would normally perform. 2 hours before the last minute gig we received a phonecall from Tom REALITY RECORDS asking for a venue where they could play. Offcourse we recommended the Vort'n Vis. In less than an hour we were able to get a second band (RETALIATE), a soundman, the backline, helping hands and 80 visitors for that show to the Vort'n Vis. Big thx to all those who made that possible.

JASON WEBLEY is returning to the Vort'n Vis again. The man's gonna make a special D-tour in his European tour to play at the Vort'n Vis. It's gonna be a free concert, so no reason for you people to stay at home. Kick-off at 20u30. Come on down to the Vort'n Vis you hillbillies, yihaaa !!!

The time schedule for the Grind Fest has been added to the events-section. There have been some changes in the line up. Go check it out. Due to circumstances, no location for the fest yet. It will take place in Ypres. This will be solved asap!

Ow shit! RINGWORM is comming to the Vort'n Vis on Monday May 2nd. Thanks to Tom Reality Records for organizing this show. Other bands will be Congress and The Setup. Normally The Set Up was going to play 2 days after the Ringworm show together with Knuckldust, No Turning Back and more. News about this later on. From now on entries on this site will be in English. The names for the Grindfest taking place on Saturday July 23rd and Sunday July 24th have been announced on this site under the events section. We'll have to wait a little longer for the names of the bands featuring on the Ieperfest. More news about this asap.

~ Nieuws 29-03-05 ~

Gisteren werd het benefiet voor de Vort'n Vis gehouden. Er waren zo'n 200 bezoekers en 100 bandleden plus 'aanverwanten' aanwezig. Met andere woorden, we kunnen spreken van een geslaagd benefiet. 13 bands hebben er het beste van zich gegeven. Congress speelde voor de laatste keer met Tim op vocals. Bedankt aan alle mensen die speciaal afkwamen voor dit benefiet. Ook bedankt aan de bands en de vele medewerkers die van 's morgens vroeg tot 's avonds laat hun steentje hebben bijgedragen.

~ Nieuws 13-03-05 ~

Welkom op de nieuwe website van de Vort'n Vis. De site zal nu en dan up to date worden gebracht met activiteiten, verslagen, foto's, ... . We hopen dat de site je een goed overzicht zal kunnen geven over de werking en de bedoeling van de Vort'n Vis. Voor je hier vertrekt moet je zeker nog de events sectie bezoeken. Hier worden alle activiteiten en optredens die doorgaan in de Vort'n Vis vermeld.

Momenteel gaan alle activiteiten door in het café (cap. max 120 man) wegens verbouwingswerken aan de grote zaal achteraan. Meer nieuws ivm. deze verbouwingswerken binnenkort. De Vort'n Vis is op zoek naar gemotiveerde medewerkers. Wil je helpen tijdens een optreden, het Hardcore- en Grindfest, bestellen in het café, werkjes opknappen, enz... Hiervoor kun je terecht op de sectie shitworkers of rechtstreeks mailen naar Evelyne.

Binnenkort volgen er verkiezingen in de Vort'n Vis. Daar worden de nieuwe verantwoordelijken voor de verschillende medewerkerscellen verkozen. De uitslag van deze verkiezingen zul je na zondag 20 maart kunnen lezen op deze site.
